So here it is!! I am a Mom of 4, three girls and one boy!! I have been thinking for a long time about starting a blog about what the TRUE joys of being a Mom are, and then it happened. I was taking advantage of a few quiet minutes while my 3 year old son was napping and I decided to go to the bathroom by MYSELF (not something that happens very often) and all of a sudden I hear him start to whimper and he strolls into the bathroom where I am still sitting, I asked him if he had to go to the bathroom and he said no but proceeded to pull down his pants and pee into the toilet. Unfortunately I was still on the toilet and so he was actually peeing all over me! I had just painted my bathroom the night before and I had about 5 minutes before his sisters got off of the bus so I had to take a quick bath with my son before the rest of the kids came home! As I laughed about the whole situation I thought, this is it I have to start that Blog!!! So here it is my blog about all the not so nice happenings that make being a Mom such an amazing experience!!! I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy sharing all of my stories!

The simplicity of truth

My 7 year old recently had her pinky finger closed in a bedroom door. It was an awful mess that called for a trip to the Emergency Room. While waiting for the doctor she was a little nervous about the whole thing and when we were talking about how her Dad used to work in that hospital, she says, "If Daddy was my doctor that would be ok with me Mom." Very sweet and innocent BUT...my husband is not a doctor! When the doctor finally did come in to visit and looked at her finger he had explained that she would need an x-ray to make sure that the finger was not broken. Her response to that was, "I would be OK if it was broken. Really I just told my Mom that I wanted to break something the other day!" I have to admit she did tell me that! Again very sweet and innocent. Then we waited, and after three hours of waiting, we had the radiologist, the nurse, and the Doctor come into the room to tell us that they were waiting on the official radiology report before they could discharge her. (no bones were broken, Phew!) The doctor was the last to come in and tell us this and as he was leaving the room my daughter says, "Why do we keep having to hear the same thing over and over again!" She was saying exactly what we, as adults, were thinking the whole time. We could never say it for fear of being disrespectful!! I love the innocence and simple truth that comes out of the mouths of children!!
